Well not surprisingly I’ve got stratchy eyes from watching too much late night, early morning OLYMPICS.
I know many people don’t like sport or just don’t understand the appeal. I’m really glad I’m not one of those people. I think the more things you have in your life that can bring you joy and entertainment, the more enjoyable your life. And sport certainly does that for me.
I love books and reading and writing. I couldn’t imagine my life without them.
BUT no book I’ve read has ever matched the joy, excitement and roller coaster of emotions that many sporting moments have brought me over the years. Not even close. Whether it be cheering on Australian teams and individuals or the joy and heartbreak of being a Brisbane Broncos and Queensland Rugby league supporter, for me watching sport has been one of life’s great pleasures.
As for the Olympics I get can get caught up in practically any sport – particularly if there are Australians involved.
My favourites at least this time around were the Boomers and Opals Basketball teams and the Women’s Rugby Sevens.
Oh and the swimming and the water polo and the skatboarding and the wall-climbing and the boxing and let’s not forget the … … …
Anyway … I was so caught up in the Spirit of the Games that I said “Bugger the expense!” and I took a quick trip to PARIS.
I must say that sadly I found the Eiffel Tower to be somewhat under-whelming!

Cheers/santé!
