Rodney had a habit of forgetting this and that,
Like where he left his coffee cup,
his wallet or his hat.
So will he remember that he’s invited to the
PARTY OF THE YEAR?!
From the creators of the CBCA AWARD-WINNING Rodney Loses it! comes another comically chaotic tale of never forgetting what is most important.
Michael is a writer who carefully crafts stories that sing with felicitous language peopled by characters that linger long in the memory. This humourous picture book is no different. The story zings along in a brisk rhyming text just begging to be read aloud. While it is laugh out loud funny it also has a serious side with a theme about helping friends and neighbours and the community in general.
I’m so glad that Chrissie Krebs did the illustrations again. She has extended the delightfully zany Roger whose giant ears and gap toothed grin own each page. He has the best party outfit ever. The colours are bright and cheerful and the whole is overflowing with energy and humour.
Sure to appeal to anyone who has ever forgotten anything, and isn’t that everyone? (Mia Macrossan – STORY LINKS)
Rodney is back in another hilarious but heart-warming tail – oops, I mean tale – and the small humans will love it just as fiercely as they did the first. Your readers will rock with laughter as my audience did throughout Rodney’s wild antics and are very jubilant when they guess why Rodney is the only guest without a present. They all very excitedly talked over the top of each other as to their reasoning behind their prediction which was a delight for me. Their perception of kindness and helpfulness is just a joy to behold. You won’t have much need to promote this heavily as it will definitely speak for itself, you will have plenty of kids who love the earlier book but I highly recommend it for your readers from Prep upwards.
