Back home from a chilly Melbourne to a much more mild and user-friendly Brissie winter.
We had a lovely time down south including a great night out at the spectaclar LIGHTSCAPE in the Royal Botoanical Gardens.

On the writing front out of the blue I recently received two emails from teachers in overseas schools.
One was from a German School – Alexander von Humboldt – in MEXICO CITY of all places and the other was from a French School – JMG Le Clezio – in PORT VILA VANUATU.
Both schools have year levels reading my book Don’t Call Me Ishmael which is pretty amazing and it was a lovely surprise to hear from both of them.
I will be doing an online session for the German School’s 130th anniversary festival in October and I may end up doing something similar for the French school in the future.
So great to see Ishmael still being read (and hopefully enjoyed) in different languages and in such far flung places.

In other news the project I’ve been involved in over the last couple of months has more or less come to an end. I’ll be able to explain more about that fairly soon.
With that done it’s probably time to work a bit more seriously on a few of the picture book ideas I’ve been mucking around with.

Cheers
Michael
